Homecoming is soon and I need a dress. I dont know where to get one that is in my size, comfortable and flattering. Where can I find a dress that is in my size (18/20 W) and that wont cost to much. I dont know where to go or what to wear. I have dark brown hair and eyes...wear glasses but have contacts. Ideas would much be appreciated. Thanks-

You can try:

Fashion Bug
Lane Bryant
Romans
Dress Barn Plus

All of these stores that I've written above, you can go online to order from them.

Congratulations on going to the Homecoming and enjoy the evening when you go. Please don't forget - take alot of pictures for memories.

Have a lovely rest of the night.

Try a dress rental shop. These are normally cheaper and you are not stuck with a dress you will never wear again. As far as color, it depends on the school colors. But a deep color works best when slenderizing your look. Tapered lines not full skirt or sleeves. Open neck with a tear drop shaped pendent necklace gives a longer slender appearance.

You might even go with thin straps or rhinestones straps but no strapless.

Make sure the shoes are a comfortable fit and heel height. They should match the dress, but uncomfortable shoes will cause you to slump which accents a weight problem.

Hold your head up, shoulders back and be proud. If your hair is long wear it up with wisps hanging, full but off the neck and shoulders this makes your look taller therefore thinner.

Hope this helps and good luck.

Lane Bryant carries some very cute, trendy clothing. They also have some good sales and some good coupons that you can use. If you go to lanebryant.com, you can print off a coupon and use it. Also www.igigi.com has some really gorgeous dresses...just click on dresses at the top of the page or check out their sale rack. Good luck and have a great time at homecoming!! =)

Try David's Bridal. They have prom dresses as well as wedding. You should be able to find one in your size & in a style you want. Check them out online too in the source below. The link I gave you takes you directly to their Special Occasion section with Homecoming/Party Dresses as an option.

Torrid. They have really cute stuff that is cute right. Not like lane bryant where they assume cause you are a size 18 your shirt needs to be made out of 10 yards of material!! Torrid's prices are great too!! I could drop a ton of money in that shop!!
Good luck!!

They are beautiful and know that women of all sizes can be fashionistas! You strut your stuff girl. I know they are a bit pricey..around 200, but really a nice dress is a good investment because there are always occasions when you need one. I still wear my prom dresses and i'm in college..I wear them for formals and sorority functions. Good luck <3

I've had very good luck with an e-bay retailer called Holy Clothing.
You might also check at Lane Bryant online. (I think it's lanebryant.com) I have seen some nice formal wear there.
Have a lovely evening at your dance!
