Anything I think sounds like a compelling story, I'll read. I tend to read lots of fantasy and romance, because those stories can be told easily with words, in my opinion. I don't read too much sci-fi. The exception is Ray Bradbury. I will read anything he wrote.

I particularly like twists in the story and I love mysteries.

Romance mostly, but if it’s going to center entirely around that, it better be especially good. I’m not into chick-lit where the plot isn’t that good in the first place (not saying it’s bad all the time) and the entire book revolves around a certain romance with nothing else to balance it out. I’m a pretty big fan of fantasy and mystery, too, and once in a while, a little action is nice.

I gravitate toward SciFi, fantasy, horror, mainstream fiction and in between these, I will pick up a book on physics. Right now, I'm reading The Elegant Universe and after that, I want to check out this book I just got on microbiology. I'm not into romance and erotica/porn.

I enjoy non-fiction books especially; memoirs, inspirational, motivational, educational...

And sometimes I just like a little "bubble gum for the brain", fun little novels that I can consume in a day or two with no long term significance.

Overall, I just love to read. And I think that whatever a person prefers to read -- from trashy romance novels to heavy intellectual reads, it is just good for people to read.

Reading is Fundamental!!

I read mostly autobiographies and textbooks. I have recently read a couple fantasy/fiction books just because I never had. I found them to be predictable and couldn't help but think it was time I had wasted when I could have been doing something more productive.

I love most all of Stephen King's work. Just finished the Dark Tower series not too long ago and it's pretty much got it all - romance, sci-fi, fantasty, mystery.... Also "Rose Madder", "Delores Claiborne" & "Insomnia" are all excellent & quick reads - very difficult to put down once you start.

I have two different kinds of books which I enjoy reading. Books which are encouraging and inspiring like devotionals and Christian historical romance novels are my favorites.
