If you have one, do you get read? Why do people set them up?

What's the deal as in why bother?
Or what's the big deal with blogs?
Blogs are big money now. Blogs are being used as watchdog organizations. Blogs are making our newspapers report the news much more honestly.

I have two blogs I actually use, and one that isn't being used. I just use them as a way to let out what I'm feeling what I've done, and for my buddies to keep up with me and maybe get a comment or two from them. I get read, not as often as more popular blogs, but if I see more than zero for the week, I'm happy, somebody cared to hear from me, even though we don't talk in person, or on the phone, etc. It's a girl thing I think, although I've seen some guys blog too. My hubby doesn't understand why I do it either.

Its an online journal basically, where you can record your thoughts and others can read and leave you comments. You can also set privacy settings so only certain people may read a specific blog, etc

mostly so my friends can read what is going on in my life, if they're interested
i get numerous hits from strangers, but they probably don't stay long
yet some of my friends read everything i write, and they email me to talk about it

personaly im not into them. i mean i dont really care what other people are doing. i dont want to sit there & read there $hit! im not interested! why do they think other people will be?
