I agree. Rapists should be raped, murderers should be put to death, arsonists should have their possessions burned, etc. etc.

Okay, I agree that the punishment for animal cruelty should be more severe...It is also common knowledge that harming animals is one of the warning signs for future crimes against people. However, I do not feel it should be considered murder or warrant the same penalty as human crimes. Where would you draw the line? Is it murder if you kill an elephant? A cat or dog? Only pets? What about strays? Then there are mice or birds? What about a sewer rat? What if you hit a pigeon with your car? If you eat chicken, does that count? Only cute animals? If we're putting them on the same level as humans, shouldn't they be accountable for their behavior too? Like if my dog kills my neighbor's cat, it would be murder and my dog will go to jail? Are you beginning to see how this just gets ridiculous? So, in my opinion, it's good in theory, but just not practical. We need to protect animals, but they are not the same.

This is a tough one...Yes, punishment should be severe but not involving the death penalty. If jerks who abuse animals would get more than a slap on the hand (most of the time) AND if witnesses spoke out more often, it would make it much less tempting to commit. But, our country/society does less than they should. Watch Animal Cops on Animal Planet cable channel. Sometimes the bad guys DO get punished.

i'm in contact with tearing human beings a clean one that harm animals. Why? because of the fact they're defenseless to the whims of guy and putting them in circumstances whilst they must combat is basically merciless. it could be like god throwing 2 human beings into an section and say kill one yet another now and the loser is going to hell. in case you the two refuse then you the two bypass to hell. whilst somebody kicks a dogs or hits an animal it places me right into a blind rage because of the fact this isn't any longer something extra suitable than the act of a coward who needs some thing to in user-friendly terms beat on. nicely if i'm around I haven't any difficulty saying come and beat on me you pos. intercourse offenders must be punished extra stable than they at present are notwithstanding it must be a respected reason unlike some guy getting a BJ and the prosecutor determining it grew to become into rape. Abortion medical doctors do no longer homicide i'm sorry in case you ought to make that declare then lest start up prosecuting human beings for ignore whilst they have a miscarriage.

Since animals are generally trusting by nature and have much less of a reason to be suspicious of their human counterparts, I think intentional cruelty to animals should be dealt with much more severely than human cruelty.

You get a BIG yes from me! Some of what you see/hear on the news is sick. And, it has been shown that those who are cruel to animals usually move on to child abuse.
