1922 was the patton year. I need to find out how to find what year a song was written in.

Newer songs are pretty easy to find out about...old hymns are going to be tough because of the lack of record-keeping. Plus, most of them weren't necessarily copyrighted until much later...good luck - I think you're going to need it!

Find the song in a hymnal. They usually give the year the tune was composed and the year the words were written.
