A majority of Canadians believe U.S. foreign policy was one of the root causes that led to the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks, and Quebecers are quicker to criticize the U.S. administration for its international actions than other Canadians, a recent poll suggests.

Those conclusions are found in a newly released poll conducted by Léger Marketing for the Association for Canadian Studies.

The poll suggests that 77 per cent of Quebecers polled primarily blame American foreign policy for the Sept. 11 attacks. The results suggest 57 per cent in Ontario hold a similar view.

It is interesting to me that the west isn't specified in this survey niether is the Atlantic - If you are from one of those Provinces how do you feel and are you the majority or the minority ?

How about the three Territory's ?

Yes I am certain some are insane but the US went poking around taking over and antagoniseing them and the rest of the world for decades - 9/11 is the fault of thier own overly aggressive foriegn policy - it just bit them in the *** and they are too stupid to see it - Corperate America dicates policy .

Without meaning to offend the American public, I think we are a little more politically aware than our southern neighbour. The fact that only 57% in Ontario, our most populated province, blame American foreign policy is a sad indication that we still have lots of brainwashed people who aren't aware of what's going on.

LOL! Trout! Your thought-provoking (or maybe just plain provoking) questions always amuse me! You REALLY love to stir the pot when it comes to American politics! You just love getting them all riled up!

I'm in Ontario. While I believe that American foreign policy played and continues to play a HUGE role in provoking terrorist attacks, my opinion has also changed somewhat, since my brother was recently sent to (and has now returned alive from, Thank You God!) Afghanistan. I believe that those terrorists are psychos who will stop at nothing to live out their brainwashed fantasies of destroying all western culture and getting their eternal paradise with their 72 virgins, or however many it's supposed to be.

I am with the majority. It is certainly the American Foreign Policy that is there to blame.Or else there would have been terrorists crashing their planaes into Canada,Swiss & every other Western country.

From this side of the Pond (England), we view the Twin Towers and Bush's response to it (remember where he was at the time?), as very telling.
46 million people (mainly Europeans) died in WWII! This puts the matter into its true perspective.

i would think that us foreign policy is not a cause, but a resolve to foreign events

the root of the problem is not the policy, but the terrorists that caused the policies to be drawn up

whats with my fellow canadians in Quebec anyway

This is my crazy idea. Let me try it on all you. The people responsible for 9/11 are the ones that planed and executed the attacks.

I guess free will is not possible according to some people.
