Bone Spurs hurt. I have them on my spine near my neck, I have talked to people that had the surgery, and I am a little scared, I have calcium deposits also, they can go in and shave them off, it would be like having a bone spur on your foot from wearing high heels..same thing, different place, nothing to fool around with though.

Bone spurs do show up on X-rays but they are a little hard to see if you don't know what you are looking for. The link below shows an X-ray and points out a spinal bone spur.
