-3 goes on the y-axis (0,-3) and then from that spot u would go up two and over 1 which would be (1, -1)

-3 is the y-intercept. so place a point at (0, -3) then from there you can see that the 2x means 2/1 which is the rise and the run. So up 2 and right 1. so another point would be (1, -1).

make a graph, the horizontal axis is the x -axis, the vertical is the y axis. the formula you have is called slope-intercept (y=mx+b).

the graph will cross the x axis at -3 (0,-3), and m=2=rise over run, so count up 2 places, then right one place (put a dot), then up 2 more, then right one more place (put a dot), starting from "-3" on the horizontal number line. Draw a line to connect the dots and runs through (0,-3) and your set.

y int is (0,-3), then you move up 2 and over one to the right becasue the slope of the graph is 2 over 1 and there is your graph.
