Me?

I was in Atlanta for school getting ready for a job interview. I was unaware that the planes hit the towers because I had no tv & our wireless internet connection was down. No one went to class that day. Most people from New York were hysterically wondering if loved ones were harmed. I remember being so afraid to ride an airplane back to L.A. for the holidays.

I was sitting on my couch when the news broke about the first tower. I remember watching the other plane coming towards the other tower. I turned to my husband and said "What the heck is he doing coming in for a closer look?". No sooner then I said that it hit the second tower. When I got to work everyone had gotten there before the first tower was hit. I broke the news to them. I have never seen so many people scrambling for TVs and radio's. The rest of the work day was pretty much spent watching or listening to what was happening.

I was in 4th grade, and I was in math class at my elementry school. The day was a normal day: My teachers lecturing, the recess activities, and everything. We hadnt recieved any information. So then, on the school bus home, me and my friend overheard some talking, but we didnt know what was happening. Then, at home, I learned the news: The planes crashed into the twin towers and the pentagon. At first, me being an idiot 9 year old, wondered what the big deal was if no one died. I was badly scolded and told over 1100 people died in the tower. then, 180 people died in the pentagon. Thats when I realized it was of serious importance.

I was in aural skill class at Liberty University. The Dean walked into the middle of class told us a plane crashed into one of the towers, had a quick pray and class continued. I couldn't believe that class just went on as if nothing happened. I rushed out as soon as the class let out and ran down the hall to the T.V. studio because they had the news on. I missed the second crash but saw both towers fell. Missed another class watching the news because I stood in complete disbelief. Finally classes were canceled for the day around 12 and I went back to my dorm room and prayed with fellow students for the rest of the night.

I was getting ready to walk uptown around 8 ish, And i went to turn on the TV for a minute and seen a tower burning then a few moments later in absolute horror i watched the second plane hit, I was in complete shock, you just didn't expect that 2nd plane , the first one you tell yourself it's very possible it was just a terrible flying accident then the 2nd plane came then you knew something was terribly wrong with the situation.

Working as a Teller at a credit union. The members were coming in to do transactions and were saying things like, "Did you guys just hear what happened, that was terrible wasn't it?" We were clueless until the big execs from upstairs who had TV's in their offices sent an email out stating what just happened. We were kind of shocked because it really didn't seem real. I couldn't wait until lunchtime. My apartment I was living in then was right around the corner from the job so I raced home and cut on the TV and watched it over and over. Cell phones were ringing off the hook that day, everyone was just amazed. Thanks to that, I'll never get my black *** on a plane now, I've never got a chance to ride on one before that and refuse to ride on one now.

Getting ready to go to class at the University of Kansas, I was walking out the door and someone told me a plane flew into the WTC, i thought it was an accident or something, then when I got to class I saw people crying...I ran back to the dorms and and just as I walked in the door, the first tower was beginning to crumble..I felt so much sadness in my soul...but I was the dorm director and had to make sure we were safe, we also had to check to see if any of our kids had family in that area....It was just an awful day in American History, but one our generation needed to understand the new threats to freedom.

I was in Colorado, I was going to work when I had heard the news on the radio. At the time I was working for Dish network, a lot of people who had their accounts disconnected were reconnecting the programing just to watch the news. Also a lot of people from New York called asking why they could not get a signal for their service. because the dust was so thick it was blocking the signal.

I was working at the Pentagon. Underground. We felt the building shake. We were watching NYC on the television monitors. I was not near the impact area. The evacuation was orderly and most people were just angry and wanted to DO something. The most difficult part was that cell phones were inoperative and I was unable to tell my family that I was OK until the afternoon. Some folks really did admirable things that morning.

I was working out at the gym. I saw it on the TV's while I was on the bike.

**I live in NYC now, and have met many people who were near the site when it happened. Many people that saw the attacks ended up on anti-depressants and "disability" because of what they saw. This is something that is not talked about much in the press. One person told me her boss saw people flying from the buildings when the plane's hit. This has haunted him since. Very sad... =(

Baking cakes for a catered event . The city of San Antonio cordoned off the entire down town area for sixteen hours. The most important event in OUR lives.
