Over fertilization causes a buildup of salts in the soil. You could transplant to change out most of the soil and it should recover. Too much fertilizer will burn the roots. you could also put it outside in the shade and ater it till the water pours out through the drain holes.

You could try. You didn't say what symptoms the plant was having. You could also try just leaving it in water for a week ( no soil, no fertilizer) so some of the urea dilutes, then replant in fresh soil with no fertilizer.

Yes! Dig it out. Get all fertilized soil off of roots, and transplant it in PLAIN (non fertilized) potting soil. Fertilize it after 4 weeks.

pull up your ivy and put it in a new pot and in new potting soil.. you generally don't have to fertilize ivy.. it grows quiet well by watering and plenty of light all on its own..
when you put it back in the new pot with new potting soil.. lay some of the vines down and cover them with dirt also.. it will start to root there and give you a much fuller pot of ivy..
only water when you stick your finger in the dirt in the pot and it don't feel wet atleast to your second knuckle
Other wise it is plenty wet.. that should get it growing again and keep it healthy..
good luck

It depend on the fertilizer you used,
if it's liquid I would give it a Roth bath,
if its solid shake the soil out but not too much, re-pot/replant and water.
How do you know you over fertilized?
