San Diego county, CA has these cities in it:

* Borrego Springs
* Boulevard
* Camp Pendleton
* Campo
* Cardiff by the Sea
* Carlsbad
* Chula Vista
* Coronado

* Dulzura
* El Cajon
* Encinitas
* Escondido
* Fallbrook
* Imperial Beach
* Jacumba
* Jamul
* Julian
* La Jolla
* La Mesa
* Lakeside
* Lemon Grove
* Leucadia
* Lincoln Acres

I would pick:

1 - Bonita
2 - Chula Vista
3 - Coronado
4 - Del Mar
5 - El Cajon
6 - Encinitas
7 - Escondido
8 - Jacumba
9 - La Jolla
10 - La Mesa

And then find a spanish - english dictionary and see what you can find.

Escondido - means hidden.

La Jolla comes from an incorrect spelling of La Joya, which means jewel.

That's all I can remember, not living there. Sorry.

BTW SAN DIEGO MEANS SAINT JAMES.

San Diego means "A whale's vagina".

I'm sorry, I couldn't resist. It's from Anchorman.

For real though, I live on the East Coast and know nothing about San Diego, so I can't help.

There is also a Miami, Oklahoma. It is pronounced "my-am-uh". It depends on not only the origins of the word, but how the NATIVES pronounce it. The accepted pronounciation of the city in Florida is "my-am-ee" to pronounce it another way (especially if you don't already have a natural accent) will cause to people to look at you funny and think that you are an arrogant jackass.
