No, I really don't. To me, piercings and tattoos should be something that is your choice when you turn 18 and can make the decision for yourself (without the consent of a parent). To me, a belly ring is sexy and a 14-year-old shouldn't be sexy. With parental consent, I'd a minimum age of 16.

My view is probably on the conservative side though.

She's too young for something like that. She doesn't need to be worrying about being trendy or showing off her mid-drift to boys. Kids are growing up too fast now adays Her parents should say no.

It might be ok if the parents consent, but for a 14yo to have one is kind of nasty.

if the parents agree who are you to question their decision? besides it's not like they're letting the kid do drugs or drink.
lighten up, if the parents don't agree the kid may sneak around and do it behind their back anyway.
