Suppose that 12 dimes and nickles are worth $0.95. How many dimes and how many nickles are there?

I'd REALLY appreciate it if you show your work. The best answer will probably have the correct answer and work shown.

d + n = 12

10d + 5n = 95

Mult. top eqn. by -5:

-5d-5n= -60
10d+5n=95

Add: 5d=35, so d=7.

d+n=12, so 7+n=12, so n=5

7dimes, 5 nickels.
