Baby alligators turn into big alligators. Why would you want to buy one? What are you going to do with it when it's 6 ft long?

Why buy one when you can rescue one from the wild? Most baby alligators in the wild are desperately trying to get out of their stinky marsh homelands in trade for a nice porcelain tub.

If you don't know enough about alligators to know the legal restrictions on buying them you have no business owning them. They are dangerous animals and do not make good pets.

If your serious about buying an alligator ( I prefer crocs myself ) Make sure you have a long term plan for it. If you live in a state that deals with a lot of snow, make sure you have a room in the house to give the baby. Check with local zoos and such for how to set up the baby's room. Must have plenty of room for area with water and room for dry rocks, to sun bath on. Make sure you have a bright enough lite to make it feel like it is laying lout in the hot sun.and please, please, please, feed the baby a proper diet.No junk food.

alot of states have laws agains them and many herpetoligists and reptile keepers strongly urge people not to get these animals as pets unless you own a zoo. too many people let theres go as they get bigger american gators get up to 18 feet and 2500 pounds. if you whant something like a gator get a caimen dwarf species get up to 5 feet ( smooth-front and wedge-head) and spectacled caimens still get a formidable 8 foot. but if insistant on gator check local laws and then kingsnake.com used to see them for 50 bucks all the time
