Wow, I went to the gym tonight and a friend of mine that works there stated that the General Manager would like to ask me out and said he thought I was hot. I said what? Nobody thinks I'm hot at my age. I smiled and said, ok, who's the General Manager. Then she pointed him out to me and started saying how he makes alot of money and drives a nice car and that they are really good friends. I said, well yeah, he's attractive, how old is he? She said he is 30 and he said he was hoping that I liked younger men. (I'm 43) I didn't know what to say at the moment because she caught me off guard so I said, I have to go right now but, we'll talk about it next week and ran out the door.

Is that possible for a 30 year old man to want to date a 43 year old woman? And for what reason?

P.S., I have large breasts....

In the culture of the US, fueled by television, we have young, attractive members of both sexes that we continually see dating each other. Less attractive people on TV are cast as not as good, or often just evil. Humans are wired to see youth as attractive, so it's easier to show young guys as the male love interest. That's what we see, that's the way it is. However, in other cultures, it's much more common for the young man to leave, go to the city, spend 20 years amassing wealth, come back home and marry a young girl, and raise children. Very common in southeast asia. There, it's normal. People in the tech advanced west are just stuck on appearances of youth, though. Consider for a moment: Twilight: the vampire guy was 100 and was dating a high school girl. That doesn't creep anybody out? No. He looks young, so it's OK. More than OK, there were theaters full of screaming early teen girls wafting clouds of estrogen through the atmosphere, every time he touched her. If he's 43, he probably has some confidence, money, and knows what's going on. He's also probably going to be more considerate. Or, he might be a total loser, we can't tell from your question. But if he's rich and nice, absolutely go for it. There are those who will resent the competition, because women's beauty peaks early and then declines, while men only get more attractive until they start to fail physically. These young guys will tell you: "he's a creepy old guy who just wants sex". Bear in mind that the young guys only want you for sex too. And with older guys, it doesn't happen as often, so it's more special when it does. Over 50% of marriages end in divorce now. So 10 years from now, would you rather be divorced and you split the debts, or would you rather be divorced (or widowed) and splitting (or inheriting) this guys life savings (and life insurance). Considering this doesn't make you a gold digger, you have to consider finances with anybody, young or old, that you entangle yourself with. Besides the life insurance thing, it's doubtful if this guy is going to have you work to put him through college. Probably just the opposite, he works you through college. Go for it.

Definitely go for it. You are both adults, would there be any question if it was a 43 year old man with a 30 year old woman? Of course not, why should it be any different in your case. I know a couple where the guy is in his early 30's and the woman is in her 50's and they have been in a stable relationship for the past 5 years! Most of the guys here that are hating are just jealous that this successful guy could pull such a sophisticated, sexy 40 year old! Take care and good luck : )

Hey 43 is not old! I'm going to be there at the end of the year and I am married to a man that is 37, I have always dated younger men, in fact when I was 32 I was with a man that was 19 and we were together for 2 1/2 years. That is until I met my current husband and fell hard! Go for it! You only live once, why not enjoy!

Yes, I am certain that what you have there has a lot to do with it, but if he asks you for "some" and you say no again and again and he still enjoys your company and wants to pursue something with you, then I think you might have your man. One way to find out!

43 vs 30 is not too great a difference if both people really enjoy eachother's time. Sure we get more mature mentally as we live life longer, but some people become mature from an earlier age, so you can still have a great time sharing the same interests. (such as exercise!) =)

When I met my husband, 7 years ago, I was 47 and he was 30. I was leery at first, but he prefers older women because of the maturity level. So far, so good. He says it gives him a thrill to know he can make me feel good sexually. I'm sure this is part of the attraction, but hey, it can work!

I was 31 and married a 19 year old male. Of course, I thought he was 21, but that is another story. We did ok, till he started wanting kids and I was not able to get pregnant again.

If you are single and looking, say what the h*ll and just roll with it. Go out on some dates, have some fun, have some passionate s*x.

If it is meant to be, it will work in the long run. If it doesn't work out, then hey...at least you had some good times.
