She needs to talk to her GYN about this. Also, have her ask her dr. about a possible fallen pelvic "floor". Sometimes when women have babies the muslces don't handle everything too well and the muscles "pelvic floor" can no longer do it's job. If that's the case, the dr. can show her some exercises, called kegels, to strengthen the muscles. This may be the reason for the pain.

As for lack of sex drive, it might be due to the pain. Or it could be due to lack of hormones, especially testosterone. Women do produce a little, that's what gives us our sex drive.

Did she have a c-section or vaginal delivery? Either way, the hormonal changes does change a persons sex drive (believe me!) As for the discomfort with sex... I had a c-section with my second pregnancy, about 15 months later I was in horrible pain. After months and 2 doctors one of them went in laproscopically and found that my uterine incision had adhered (fused) with my abdominal wall and bowel. It has now been a year since the surgery to repair that and I am just starting to enjoy sex again and have a bit of a sex drive. Before the surgery though, it felt like my husband's penis was going to poke through my abdominal wall during sex, it was awful and really painful.

This kind of thing isn't as uncommon as your friend would think. She should make an appointment to go see her doctor ASAP! Good luck!

It could very well be a hormonal imbalance. Pregnancy really does a number on a woman's body. She should talk to her OBGYN about her problems. They will probably be able to prescribe her something to help get her back on track and to ensure that everything did heal ok she shouldnt be ashamed to talk to her doc he did see her for her pregnancy so he could probably really help her out now

She really needs to talk to her doctor about the pain. Her feelings toward sex could be due to stress, exhaustion, anticipating the pain she now has, or maybe the baby blues or depression. Advise her to speak with her OB/GYN and really give her your support. Let her know she's not alone in this and with time, things will improve. Best wishes to you, her, and her new family!
