We have been removing the oil from the earth for more than a century now. With less oil left in the ground to lubricate the axis as the earth spins around it wouldn't this create a lot of friction heat that might be the cause of global warming? Couldn't this also cause volcano's.

Friction has nothing to do with global warming (or volcanos).

CO2 is 30% higher than it has been for 650,000 years. Methane is 130% greater. These are two of the main pollutants humans put into the atmosphere in excess, and they are two of the primary greenhouse gases.

Look at the 'hockeystick', which shows a dramatic warming since 1950 after a fairly stable climate for 1000 years. In fact, the 10 hottest years in recorded history have all happened since 1990, with 2005 being the hottest, and 2006 is shaping up to maybe break that record.

How's that for proof of man's fault in this? There is ample proof, any real scientist will tell you that.

There has NEVER been an article doubting man's influence on global warming published in a peer-reviewed journal. A recent study of almost 1000 proved that.

Yes, the earth naturally heats and cools, but the rate and amount we are warming now is unprecedented in the recent geologic past. We are doing this, and we must stop it. This is not some political statement or rhetoric. This is science trying to educate a crass, ignorant public of the damage they are doing. The magnitude of temperature increase ALREADY is about 10x that of the 'little ice age' of the middle ages, and rate and amount are only going up.

Just to be clear, glacial and interglacial cycles are mainly controlled by astronomical fluctuations, but we have a detailed record of the last 7 cycles, and what the climate and CO2 is doing now is way different and extreme. The rate of increase is much higher than in the past AND the value itself is much higher.

Interesting question. I'm not a scientist but???? As I understand Global warming, it is because of the greenhouse effect, which is due to all the emissions things like cars and factories put into the air. These emissions get trapped and cause the earths temp to rise. This is a very simplistic explanation, but that's how I understand it. That is why trying to find alternative ways for cars to run will help slow down the global warming but if we don't do something now then it will be to late and it won't matter what we do in several years.. Look up global warming as I did and there is a slew of info you can read up on.

Luther, Luther, Luther. Did you get your education at Mickey Mouse University? Oil does not lubricate the Earth, it lubricates your car's engine. Any oil at any serious depth in the Earth would convert to graphite, diamond or carbon III. The heat causing volcanoes is due to radioactive decay of uranium, thorium and potassium. Global warming is attributed to burning of fossil fuels, although the Earth's average temperature is hotter than the present temperature.

Global warming is due to the fact of the sun. It is like a great big fire ball. eventually it is going to explode. We won't see it happen in our time. also due to Humans: green house emmisions ( fossil fuels, chemical, waste etc. With global warming, water is evaporating, climates are changing all around the world. The earth is slowly drying out/ dying.

Yes, there is a volcano under me right now. I ate some spicy food earlier. This globe is about to get a whole lot warmer. I have to go unleash the beast now.
