I want to find a simple hat knitted in the round. I can only find patterns that are knitted and then seamed together at the end, and I don't like that. I wish I could find a pattern that was simple--not a lacy pattern--that is guaged for preemie babies.

I just posted a pattern for a knitted newborn cap for Caps to the Capital. It's simple and worked in the round. To make it smaller, cast on fewer stitches.

When I needed a knitting pattern, I Googled for it and got tons of places to look. I found a couple of good sites that way. Unfortunately, I was looking for other patterns, so my found sites wouldn't help you per se. However, if you go to Google (www.google.com) and type "knitting pattern preemie hat" into the search box and hit Enter, you should be able to find something. If not, modify your search ("free knitting pattern preemie hat" or perhaps "knitting pattern preemie hat seamless" or some such thing) and see if that helps. Happy hunting!

Check out www.lionbrand.com and click on knitting patterns. You will have to register, which is free, and they have a couple of really cute infant/preemie hats. Hopefully you can find a pattern that you will like.

my best bet would be to ask a local hospital I am sure they would give you a couple of address of people or ideas

but I think the best idea is to meassure the head and knit from there
I would fist make a hat that fit maybe a grape fuit just to get some idea of material used then cut back or scale up from there for the preeie once you know how to allow for certain size test fruits from the store then you know some information on how to make the hat
if they were kochaded then that would be easy it would take pratice in making the curve for around the head and that would be krchaded together in a tube abe then the top piece os crchaded on I think in planning stage this is my idea I may be wrong and I might have a bright idea which I don't know LOL but I hope I helped

Try buying an item called KNIFTY KNITTER. It is a set of 4 round looms. It is very easy to do. I made @ 25 preemie hats already and donated them to the hospital.
