You could try Matsumi Hasaki's dojo. He claims to be some sort of heir to ninja tradition. Most Japanese people consider latter day ninjutsu to be a campy blend of fact and fiction that has no connection to legitimate martial arts.

I agree, you'd have to go to Dr. Matsumi Hasaki's dojo..but there are a few things you have to realize.

The Japanese government, at least the cultural section, ONLY recognizes him as an authentic Ninja and he is licensed by the government to teach as "living national treasure"....however he is due to retire soon and has not named his successor.

Your best bet is Stephen Hayes and american who I think still runs a dojo in the states.

Be aware that if you do get into Dr. Hamasaki's dojo you will

A. be expected to pay one heck of a fee and must understand Japanese.

B.get lots of discouraging looks from Japanese people who think Ninja are quite silly.

You should also know that there is some controversy about Dr. Hamasaki's acceptance. Many people feel that the true art of Ninjitsu died about 300 years ago and what he knows is a mere fraction and its questionalble if he deserves Government recognition for what he may or may not know.

There are several good ninja schools in Tokyo however without some prerequisite ninja skills you will likely not make it past the front door. Be careful and consider using the force.
