thanks for the suggestions so far...unfortuneatly, I have no time to edit and cut, and don't want to spend money, so any sites or monologues on the internet would be appreciated

There are lots here from movies and musicals and plays. Good luck on your audition, I hope I'm not too late.

There are books you can get in most major bookstores that cater to this very thing. They're called "The Best Male( or female or kids) Monologue's of 2000 (or 2001 0r 2002 etc). Smith and Kraus is the publisher and they run about $12. I don't know if your male, female, adult or young actor so I can't point you to a specific one and you should do a monologue that is either in your age range or in the age of the character your auditioning for. If it a company audition then you;re right and you should do something with a wide range. What's nice about the books is that they are from more recent plays and the director won't have seen it 100 times before.

Find your favorite comedic play, and then choose a character who has many lines in short order. Cut out the lines of the character(s) who he/she is speaking to. Modify a bit if needed in order for it to make sense. You will end up with a monologue that is unique, and directors really appreciate the effort of cutting an actual script in this way.

Try Tom Sawyer or Huck Finn. Could also try Princess Bride, Cheaper By the Dozen, Alice in Wonderland or maybe even Fairy Tales.

Go to Monologue Search at http://www.monologuesearch.com

We are putting together an online database of monologues that you can search by style, gender, time period, etc. We have quite a few full-length contemporary monologues.

attempt Maureen's monolouge from hire. Its humorous, and a particularly good speech. you may substitute the making a song into basically speaking in case your no longer comfortable with it. Its some female who has a dream some place referred to as Cyberland and shes attempting to get out, and all this extraordinary stuff happens. you may seem it up on you tube from the action picture or from the play. wish this helped!
