...everything has a cause. We may be surprised and resent what happens but nothing happens without reason and to me that means everything is perfectly fair. What's unfair is the denial we all exhibit of that.

If you are a chicken then life isn't fair. That's because you are a fowl.

It's unfair that you didn't have a question.

It's unfair that your supposition that everything with a cause is fair.

It's unfair that you supposition that any reason makes any result fair.

If our denial has a cause and happens for a reason, then by your own definition it is fair.

I also believe everything has a cause, but that does not lead me to believe that everything is fair.

I believe that "something" isn't fair, if it gives some people an advantage over other people.

I don't think it's fair that some people are born into poverty, and other's into luxury. It's not fair that some people have terrible deseases and other people are born health. It's not fair that some people don't have the same opportunities that others have.

There are many things that we don't have control over, but I believe that we should strive for fairness. In the movie Contact, David Drumlin tells Ellie, "I know you must think this is all very unfair. Maybe that's an understatement. What you don't know is I agree. I wish the world were a place where fair was the bottom line, where the kind of idealism you showed at the hearing was rewarded, not taken advantage of. Unfortunately, we don't live in that world." Ellie replied, "Funny, I've always believed that the world is what we make of it."

I believe this is a great come back because people are often the ones that make life unfair. There are some things in life that we can't make fair, but there are some things that we can. It is our responsiblity to adjust the laws of our governments to make things fair when we can. Fairness is an important principle because when everyone has the same opportunities, there is a greater number of people that can change the world for the better.

I believe everything has a cause and reason, but that you yourself greatly affect these happenings by the decisions that you make.

Don't you think it reasonably fair, that the cause had no reason.

You certainly cannot deny the unfairness, could you.

......if something bad happens to you, something bad will eventually happen to those who caused you to suffer. It might take years, but it will happen. Things "even out" over time.
