They are so annoying, I think I'm a good looking girl (not to like brag) because if I said I was ugly that would be insecure. I think that without my pimples and clear skin would make me feel better about myself. Any good tips for acne, for those who had acne, and don't anymore? I know I'm growing up, I'm fifteen, but I hate worrying about them.

A little bit of toothpaste on them before you go to bed might help. Models do it. If it's REALLY bad, go to a dermatologist. A friend of mine did that, and his face cleared up pretty good. Doc gave him something that was supposed to block oil and dry his face a little. Only problem is that you HAVE TO stay hydrated all the time. I'm just rambling now....

Over the counter benzoyl peroxide is an excellent choice for treating acne. But not everyone can use it. Proactive is a good choice for people who respond well to BP. Proactive does use a good concentration of medicine - enough to be effective for those who respond well to it; not enough to typically irritate your skin. The products are also pleasant to use. No medicinal fragrance or overdrying effects to alert everyone around you that you're using the product. Murad is a good choice for those who respond better to salicylic acid.
A proper cleansing routine is only part of the picture. Diet DOES matter - contrary to what many physicians will tell you. Steer clear of foods and beverages high in iodine. (Shellfish, energy drinks like Dr. Enuf, etc). Also foods which are high in acidity - orange juice (not oranges, but juice concentrate), pickles, etc can be a culprit in huge outbreaks. Especially cystic acne.
Be careful of the products you use. Shampoos, conditioners, hairspray, and make up also make a HUGE difference. You can do some research on what products are "safe" and what ingredients to avoid at www.sageskincare.com. I'm not recommending their products, but that website does have excellent information. Making necessary changes in your diet or cosmetics can go a long way towards preventing the very problems you're attempting to treat with the Proactive. Not to sound cliche, but when it comes to battling acne, you really have to search below the surface....you need to be a detective and your own best friend. Hope this helps!

ProActive isn't for everyone.

If your face is naturally oily, ProActive will only make it dry and leave you prone to more acne if you don't use the product regularly.

Different things work for different people. However, being healthy will result in healthier skin.

Having said that, try eating healthy foods. Limit your junk food intake and detox your body once in a while. Try various forms of anti-oxidants (ie. fruits, drinks etc.). Try sleeping for a minimum of 8 hours regularly and don't stay up too late.

Avoid stress! Have some time for yourself to relax and enjoy being a teen. Stop worrying about things. Finally, hydrate your face. Use face wipes with minimal salicylic acid. You can use the Jergens face wipes every morning after you shower, after lunch, and before you go to sleep. It wipes off excess oil in your face and leaves enough moisture to let your skin breathe.

You should only use acne medicine when you are breaking out. Do not use it everyday, if you do eventually your face will get used to it and you will be forced to keep using it. DO NOT use TOOTHPASTE. Colgate is for your TEETH not your FACE!!!

First of all, Proactiv is not the cure for everyone.
I took my daughter to my Skin care specialist, who suggested we utilize products like DDF Salicylic wash (sold on line and at Sephora cosmetics) We were also encouraged her to change her diet (lots of water, no sodas, and more rest)
Wash with a gentle soap (acidic soaps seem to work better than alkaline soaps). Do not scrub your face; doing so can worsen pimples. And though it's tempting, squeezing pimples is a no-no; popping pimples is the most common cause of acne scarring
If things worsen you may need to start oral antibiotics.
However my daughter was just fine without them.

I am an Arbonne skincare consultant. You will really appreciate these products if you give them a chance. All of our products are hypoallergenic, dermotologist tested, organic offerings, no animal testing, no animal by-products, botanically based (plant based). We are very popular for our anti-aging sets. We have seen them work wonders and change many people's lives. The acne line is awsome. I use them myself. I battled acne all my life and I've tried it all from the at home natural remedies to the proactiv to the dermotologist. Nothing worked for me until I was introduced to arbonne. Please take a look for yourself and discover what Arbonne can do for you too. Go to arbonne.com enter consultant ID#16329378. I used to have horrible acne. But then I got a terrible fever and I had to spend 2 days straight with a freezing cold cloth on my forehead at all times It nearly completely cleared up. Now, to keep it gone, I use a cleanser with 2% Salicylic acid.

This worked for ALL of my friends, so you should really try it out.

You need:
2.5% benzoyl peroxide (or you can just buy Oxy 5 if you can't find any.)
Any brand of moisturiser, preferably containing Salicylic Acid
A cleanser, any brand will do.

1) Wash your face with your cleanser using YOUR HANDS.
2) Dap dry, NEVER RUB your face with the towel.
3) Apply the benzoyl peroxide on your face and spread, increase your dosage day by day.
4) ALWAYS remember, after your BP dries up, apply moisturiser. Be generous with the amounts.

Within a WEEK, you will see effects. =)

Follow it, trust me.
