Not all, not even most show gay behavior from childhood. A great deal of our behavior is learned and reinforced by our parents and other adults around us, and those people are often straight. So as a boy, if you pick up a doll, someone might take it from you and say no no, here's a teddy bear. Or even worse, here's a toy gun.

Pretty soon you learn that if you are shooting the teddy bear with your toy gun, people say "isn't he cute," and they laugh with you and shower you with attention. So you learn to be "masculine."
For many it isn't until the second round of independence seeking in the development cycle, around puberty that a more of the gay characteristics come out.
But for many kids, by that age, they're really learned not to ACT gay, so it may be further suppressed!

That's a complicated question; if someone is naturally prone to exhibit early sexual behavior, then I would say yes. Some people say they always knew they were gay.

Me personally, I didn't really know till I was twelve. But I refused to talk about it or show it because I thought it would just be a "phase." Boy, such an innocent conception can be so harmful, huh?

^_^ Nope.

Example, my best friend. I've known him forever. When he told me he was gay, I was shocked. Considering how close we were and I never caught on. And I'm a great people reader too. I have a good "gaydar" as they say. But I never noticed it with him. =P I do know though.

Just because children dress up in opposite sex attire or play with, what society deams, sex inappropriate toys, does not mean that they are gay or will turn out gay. Children do not grasp the concept of sex until they are about 3, and don't grasp the concept of gender until about 4. =)

If they are older and play with "sex inappropriate" toys (I hate saying that), no worries. Odds are they do it because their playmates are the opposite sex. Children, like adults, have a need to fit in. It's part of out biological/evolutionary instincts as pack hunters. So if a little boy is hanging out with girls, odds are, to be liked, he will play with dolls.

Cheers!

there are studies that show yes, but my aunt wasn't gay until her husband beat her up real bad. i guess she then found safety and a more secure love in a woman. and the woman she was with was damn good to her down to her death. she was also one of the most coolest women i ever had the honor of meeting. when i asked her when did she discover she was gay she said at the age of 17teen. she said women had a better understanding of the wants and needs as well as the urges women sometimes feel. women are more supportive and less selfish than a lot of men, not all men. too me being gay starts where ever and when ever. people are people and too me it doesn't matter where it started just as long as people find happens, love, peace of mind, and live there lives. "freedom" don't try to understand it, just except people for who they are and the whys will follow if you take the chance to get to know a person w/o prejudice in your way.
there not gays, there not a different types of people. they are still human beings and and should just be left alone to be happy like we would want.

I think some do more than others. My buddy Zach is soooo gay and he used to tell me stories about dancing to Janet Jackson in front of his mom's stove and looking at his reflection in the oven door. I know others that were nowhere near as obvious.

No, you cant tell if some gay people are gay as adults. Thats just a stereotype that all gay people showed gay traits as a child.

Not all of them... but the truely gay ones do... like my friend who I have had since preschool... looking back I had the biggest crush on him but he was SO GAY... (and yes... he is gay... seriously, I still talk to him... he is into guys... and very girly.. and he was girly back in elementary school too. He didn't hang out with any guys, just me and another girl.)

Not always, but in certain occassions yes. Playing dress us with parents close, playing with same sex friends oddly...you get the point. It's visible, but some just dont see it (or choose to ignore it).
