fractals and apophysis?

how does the fractals program called apophysis work? i create realy cool imagery but i dont understand what im doing. how do the triangles affect how the shape looks?

Recursion, isn't the thing called a Mandebott or something?

Would you have cared how stereographs (those that shows some objects if you stare at their mosaic) those are optical illusions and you would've rather check out how optics work; then in this you should check how recursion works not the fractal imagery.

Recursion is only interesting and eurekable if you look at the relationship between a step and the entire action sequence.
