Superman or Hulk?

Question

Who would win? Why?

Superman got destroyed by Doomsday and I thought Doomsday was pretty weak. Meanwhile, the Hulk has deep-seated emotional problems and a disturbed psyche, no doubt from the bad 'roids from BALCO.

So, who would win in a battle between Hulk and Superman and why?

I agree, Doomsday was pretty damn weak.

Hulk is in a class of his own when it comes to his limits of strength and endurance, but Supes is no slouch, either. The thing is, Supes also has superspeed, flight, x-ray, heat vision, ice breath, you name it....

With that said, one must note that it HAS been done - though that was a joke; fans voting on who would win, etc., etc. Anyway, while Superman has had trouble with Lobo, Darkseid, and other superpowered beings with vast strength and destructive powers; the emerald giant would also give him major problems until he puts a strategy into effect: rob the Hulk of his air or send him into outer space! The Hulk DOES need to breathe; granted, he has superior lung space and can hold his breath for a LONG time, but would it be long enough for him to survive an ocean trench deep drop or a rocket launch-throw into space?

The key to the whole battle is flight - and that's where Superman shines; the Hulk would be at a serious disadvantage, having to take it to the air to fight the Big S.

This is a question that keeps coming up. And once again i have to say.... is which versions are we to use? At the hight of their powers? Golden age Superman? Green or Grey hulk? Current Superman? Savage Hulk? Red and Blue Superman? PLanet Hulk ...uh... Hulk?

yes they touched on it in a Marvel vs DC but that was a fan voted cross over. (and a lot of the fights were lame. Including the Hulk Supes fight)

I would pit the current Planet Hulk Hulk against Superman from a few years back. This Superman was probally the most powerful superman other then the absurdly powerful Golden Age Superman. Current Hulk is probally at Savage Hulk strength but with more intelligence.
Like all Hulk verse "insert challenger here" this one comes down to stamina. Superman is increadibly strong and durable. He could, if nessicary, trade blows with the Hulk. In the Endurance game though he would probally lose. As his fight with Doomsday proved He can reach his limits when drawn into a perlonged battle. Hulk has on occassion gone through grueling battles with scores of foes. If it were to end up a drawn out slugfest i would give it to the Hulk because Superman would tire just a little sooner. Of course if Superman wanted to Kill HUlk easy he could probally grab hold of him and hurl ol' Green Genes into the sun. For all his strength, Hulk can't fly!

Superman for sure, he has tremendous speed, can live to inform the tale in area, warmth imaginitive and prescient, and so on. at the same time as, certainly the hulk does get superior, superman is already the most effectual. heres what would ensue, Hulk is being hulk, smashing stuff. Superman is for sale in and tackles the hulk, the hulk pushes superman away and jumps away. Superman realizes this and flies all over the realm at tremendous speed, touchdown devastating blow on the hulk, sending hulk flying to area, superman than catches the hulk and throws him into the daylight.

They already did this, in the Superman / Spider Man team up. Hulk punched Superman clear from New York to Metropolis, but when Superman recovered, he came back and stood his ground. Nothing Hulk could do could make Superman budge! He hit him with his hardest punches and the Man of Steel stood there and took it. Then Hulk HAD TO give the big red S some respect and admit that he wasn't 'puny' like all the other pink-skinned guys. He calmed down after that and reverted to Bruce Banner. Just goes to show.


BTW, did you ever wonder why an otherwise socially progressive company like Marvel would continue to publish a blatantly racist character like the Hulk who so openly and derogatorily defames other people as "puny' on the basis of their skin color (pink)...?

winners of each match-up were determined by fan voting!

in reality, hulk is not the idiot many make him out to be.
he fights with an animal-like cleverness, often manipulating
his environment w/ his great strength in order to aid him in
combat.

superman is pretty clever as well, and does have a speed
advantage. however, hulk's strength and durability are unlimited.
he was able to rip onslaught's armor apart when his savage side
was let loose. considering superman's difficulties with opponents
of similar strength (darkseid, doomsday, lobo), I would give the
edge to hulk in a straight-up brawl.

however, superman would probably win if had enough time
and resources to execute a good plan.

People will say the Hulk because the angrier he gets the stronger he becomes. So What?

The Hulk is in the 100 ton class range, but Supes is already way beyond that.

Superman......
His only weakness is kryptonite.He can do cool stuff like look through walls n stuff.Hulk cant fly. He can only use his strength.Superman can fly which is a big big advantage.
