As a single mom, I was with my ex for 6 years our son was 2 when we split, it took a very long time to get beyond the emotion about 6 months or so, and the memories will always linger, moreso because I have to see him, they fade and you will get a flicker ever so often if you are somewhere, or doing something familiar, or especially when my son asks about when he was little. But the love you felt for that person goes into a different type of emotion I cant put a finger on it, after the pain, resentment, anger and hurt fade away. I have moved on and found the love of my life and am marrying next summer, and so has my ex, but you always hold a small tiny spot for someone who made a mark on your life. I learned that moving forward, and getting back into a normal activity level helped move me forward and beyond and got myself into a really good relationship by accident. Best of Luck

If pasts love were the ones you had the most fun and spent the most time with, the ones you just craved when you were apart, the ones who really put it on you better than the one before. It's gonna be hard because you'll never find that one person with all the good traits combinedfrom your past loves.

I think that you always carry a part of them in your heart; that is normal. However, common sense dictates that we must press on towards the future.
