The track hasn't sold out a NASCAR race since they added the second one. Should one of the races be eliminated or moved somewhere else?

YES, but not likely to happen. Just like they eliminated some of the better tracks, or took a race from them. It is about who owns the tracks and that politics. They claim it's about "expanding" popularity or other claims. Fact is if you look who gets the races you will see that it is about the money.

Based on your argument, there is no reason for NASCAR to pull one of the races at California. Even when they do not sell out, the number of fans attending is still more than nearly any other race on the circuit. Should the California Speedway be punished merely because they decided to put more seats in than most of the speedways across the country?

As far as taking the traditional races away, the tracks themselves could be partially to blame. Take Darlington for instance. Why didn't they make an effort to improve the facilities for the fans before NASCAR decided to pull a race away from them? They had plenty of opportunity to do so, but didn't.

As much as I would rather see a race at the Rock, North Wilkesboro, etc., the lack of maintenance and improvements at the facilities helped doom having a Cup date.

I personally think that yeah, one of the California races should be moved. They don't get the sales (no..not that many people go out for a smoke during a race) and with the road course it makes for three in California (seems a little not fair to me.. and yeah, I know that the majority of the races are on the Eastern belt, but at least look at putting it somewhere else on the West instead of in Cali..) Nope, sorry, let's spread it out a bit more. I'm always a vote for brining back the Rock race!! Yeah, it might not sell out, but give it some time and I can guarantee with a little work it could.

Why pull an event from a track just because it didn't sell-out? Even though the stands aren't full the race can go on. It's better to have partial attendance at 2 races each year than to turn away people from an overcrowded event once a year.

The answer short and sweet.YES.
It is not about sell outs it is about tradition. The SOUTHERN 500 has always been run at Darlington, but since it was an old track NASCAR in its' money hungrey way put the race in California.
Move the labor day race back to Darlington.

Yes, one date needs to go back to North Carolina Speedway in Rockingham, NC. California is booring most of the time. A night race at the Rock would be awesome.

I think they should. Even though I am from California and have been to a race there, I agree. It's not all that exciting. And I would WAY rather see races at the Rock again. Those were GREAT races.

If France and Hitler Helton would quit screwing with the system, bringing in people who dont give a damn (and dont know) about racing and trying to export an AMERICAN sport, while bringing in foreign machines, quite possibly the fan base would be as it used to be...Back when racing was racing...True NASCAR filled the stands and would today, even at Ca. Speedway...It has gone the way of "professional wrestling"...Its all about their money...Sorry, I never answered the question, did I? Move the race back to Darlington!! AND DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ABOUT THE QUITTERS QUITTER, MARK MARTIN!!!!!

yes, and give it back to Darlington. The Labor Day race there was terrific, I miss it ! Shame on NASCAR for taking it away in the first place.
