How do people become conservative? Is it childhood head trauma, or can lack of education do it?

here's an excercise, the only problem is that most conservatives will be too dumb to even attempt it, i assume, though would be happy to be shown the wrong here:

google "average standard of living by nation" go through the first few links until you find a table

now look at each country and rate their government on a scale of 1 (liberal) to 10 (conservative)

and be amazed how ignorant one has to be of global politics to maintain a conservative ideology, an ideology proven to fail outside of homogenous micro-societies.

wizard are you on drugs? yes its just coincidence that liberal governments have a higher average standard of living across the globe than do conservative government

and as for the "relative terms" Jesus Christ, spend a day in Norway, then a day in Iran, and tell me how relative the differences are,

Most Conservatives are simply people like you and I whos beliefs are shaped by thier experiences and upbringing. You attempt to label all Conservatives as stupid using a single abstract example that is void of any scientific basis for your assumption. I could make an argument that its liberals who are actually stupid if I wanted to do so. Be more open to the ideeas of others and less quick to judge everyone by a single rule.

2) Rating a scale of government AFTER you have looked up standard of living statistics is usually refered to as "fishing for the answer that you want."
3) Liberal and Conservative are relative labels, not absolute. You have to compare specific systems of government to the standard of living to find out which ones work best.

They begin at school.

Something they do not understand such as a Women's Studies course comes along.

They regress in thier sexual inadequacies because they never had the "sex talk" and never had sex.

Due to this perceived impotence on thier part, they get very angry.

There is a built in place to channel such anger, it is promoted in many books by authors such as: Ann Coulter, David Horowitz, and D'nesh D'Souza.

This literature, like a comic book, gives them false bravado, and counter-points to the Left (which when played out to thier logical end ammount to nothing less than total folly and falsehoods). Combined with racist undertones from thier parents (being low socio-economic status often) they feel empowered and continue life with blinders on.

They have profound ability to force every complex, gray shaded, absurd, abstract concept about the world into a balck and white format. This is what the aformentioned books teach you to do.

They ride through life addicted to talk radio.

They never evolve and never truely engage life in its complexity.

They lack empathy.

They follow and not lead and they are ultimately nothing more than the pawns in the political gain, SO DUPED BY POLITICAL MASTERS, that they march in line like cattle to the slaughter and never find out until its too late the extent of thier mistakes.

This the basic reason why the country is the way it is, and why places like Utah exist, and why there is an American Taliban of Young Republicans in every university. AND, last, why we are in touble as a nation. Frigid weirdos have taken some power and use it blindly... conservatives are scary becuase they are retarded (in the sense of being restricted) and sometimes those who are retarded get out of control, ina pool for instance, overly excited and hurt the average people, sometimes resulting in accidental death. Are they to blame? I think not. We just have to contain and correct them at every turn.

This is why the welfare state is still necessary, both mentally and economically.

i became a conservative when i read "Conscience of a
conservative" by the late Senator Barry Goldwater. i read this in 1964 when i was 21y/o. it is avail on amazon.

i majored in political science in college and have been involved in politics ever since.

i am disgusted (have to use printable words here) with both the dems and reps nationally.

today when one gets elected the sole purpose of their life becomes to get reelected and everything else can be damned.

we need term limits, complete campaign finance reform, limits on lobbyists, and line-item veto. without these four, the situation will not change.

but get congress to do any of these is going to require a complete replacement of them.

i will again be voting for no incumbants in november.

I think everyone is born liberal, you know, stupid and uneducated. But as we progress in life, live and learn by real life experiences, we eventually grow up, become educated and realize that all of the words worst problems were created by liberals. It is at this point that we shake our heads, wake up and become Conservatives.

It depends how you define concervative-
There is really nothing concervative about Bush or his supporters-
His spending, his klilling are very liberal in thier excess.....

A concervative that beleives in fiscal responsibility would be someone who is frugal and doesnt spend more than they earn...

But the neo-concervatives are social Darwinists who celebrate death, hate non Christians, and worship money and power...
