Wow. You may get some arguments on this one.
I'd say both are abstract. IDEAS for sure: an idea is a mental concept, something you cannot detect with your senses.
You could say that a YEAR is also abstract, from a sensual point of view. George, Martha and the audience are all concrete, right? Because we can see them, hear them, touch them, etc. A year is only an arbitrary span of time; we can measure it in terms of elapsed time, which is also abstract. I think.

YEAR is concrete....it can be measured.
IDEAS is abstract...people could have seen the speaker as having very different ideas--it's based on their opinions.

Year is concrete - point of fact and objectively verifiable.
Ideas is abstract - intangible and transmitted/perceived uniquely, no matter how clearly expressed.

they are both abstract. concrete is something you can touch, see, and feel such as a dog, car, etc. abstract is something that you can't see feel or touch, such as dream, idea, year, etc.

You cant physically TOUCH a year or and idea, so they are abstract.
