when on the sharing tab of a folder's properties (right click > sharing and security) you need to make sure that as well as the folder being shared with a given name, you must also make sure the 'allow network users to change my files' box is ticked otherwise the folder and it's contents will be read-only to people accessing the share.

Go to the sharing tab of the folder. Look for the button that says permissions. Click on Full control.

Alternatively you may just have an option which says "Allow network users to change my files"

Allow network users to change my files has to be checked on main pc for you to be able to do that. when you right click and then go to Share this Folder or File, That will be right under it..

The sharing you are doing is read only. Select "full access" in sharing option.

maybe the file was saved as a read only file, then you would have to ave a new file, or replace the old file with a new one.

You will have to change the property from read only or save another version.
