Absolutely, because music was no longer about just great vocals. Video made image/looks important. Would Jim Croce or John Denver been as famous as they were if they had to produce videos to promote their songs...? probably not. And artists like Ricky Martin would never have made it if radio was their only venue...

Um. well if the internet is included, then I would say yes! I used to be a radio junkie, but now listen to and buy all of my music from the net!

i once read an article about how movies killed books because people were writing books only so they would become movies.

same thing for songs...people are writing songs so they can make a good video for them
