I work in the travel industry, so yes, it's affected me a great deal. Aside from the loss of jobs and the dismal performance of airline CEOs while collecting large paychecks, bonuses and such, my window looks out toward O'Hare, and for three days we didn't see any planes in the sky. It was surreal, and difficult to forget.
Five years later, I still wonder every day whether I'll have a job tomorrow, or will the effects of 9/11 finally reach me.
After being glued to the television for weeks, I came to a point where I just couldn't watch the film clips anymore... still can't.
