I like it how it is. A representative democracy is in my opinion the best government there is today. But we as Americans forget that not all democracy's have a strong constitution such as us. However, I believe that we should always be on the lookout for a new or improved form of government that could eventually replace our own. Democracy is great until the people realize that they can vote themselves wealth.

As John Addams once said , "A Democracy will always be short lived and in the end will com-it suicide."

.....This is a shortened version of what he said.

It should be a meritocracy. Same goes for every other country as well.

Think about it this way. If you wanted to know how to build a fast racing car, who would you ask? Automotive engineers, of course. If you wanted to know how to make a good graphing calculator in C++, who would you ask? Professional C++ programmers, of course. If you wanted to find the best way of cultivating bacteria, who would you ask? Biochemists, of course. If you wanted to find the best way of creating a functioning society and economy, who would you ask? Sociologists and economists, of course- but the idea of a representative democracy is that somehow normal people have a better idea of how to make society work than sociologists and economists do. When you look at it in this light, it is just plain obviously flawed. And the answer, of course, is to stop trusting the public and start trusting intelligent, moral people who have a good understanding of sociology. Which equals meritocracy.
