Alright, so I dont know if this seems selfish or jealous but I really need help. So my brother is a senior and its a "big" year for him( so he can get a scholership in football and get into college) My parents both told me that even though they won't mean to, they are probably going to pay more attention to him more than me. I'm just as athletic as him but I dont know.. Anyway then I found out my sister ( the only other support I had) is pregnant, and it's already bad enough I barely talk to her since she's married but now.. I have no one.. No one at all. Plus I'm at a totally new school with barely any friends. Who do I go to? What do I do?

well i can understand where your coming from. it is really tough to be placed on the back burner. if you're younger than him just hold on to the thought that your day is coming! you will be in the senior spot light soon enough. be the supportive sister you know you are, you'll miss him when he's off at college even if you think you won't. what i did when i felt on the back burner was got more involved. i got a job and i worked as much as i could, i went to church and youth group alot (i've always been invovled in my church doesn't mean you have to be) and i got involved with school groups. you will meet alot of other students that way and make great friends you will occupy yourself enough to not even notice the lack in attention from your family. good luck sweetie. it doesn't ever get easier but your time will come. keep your head up and you'll do great!

Well, no matter what I'm sure your mother, sister, and even brother still love you. My parents just had a baby so I have definately lost the attention I am used to. I have also started a new school---a boarding school. So it is hard being away from home. Just get out there and do what you have to do. Your time will come trust me. Being patient will be worth it in the long run. Don't let little things like this upset you there will be bigger problems.

Just because you sister is pregnant doesn't mean you can't talk to her. As for your brother, go to his games and cheer for him.

I'm sure you still have friends from your previous school. Call or email your old friends - they'll always be there for you.
