I don't like the liberal part, but I would pick Sweden over Iran for a couple of reasons:
1. Women have no rights in Iran. That is a major problem for me.
2. It's only a matter of time until the States goes after Iran. Time is running out for terrorists.
3. Sweden just sounds a lot cooler. Not a fan of desert and Arabic countries.

I don't see where you come up with Sweden or Iran being Conservative or Liberal. Of cource you would be crazy to pick Iran. Right Now!. If they ever become independent and run themselves , The picture might look a lot brighter for their citizens.
I of course would pick Sweden, ( of the two choices) only because there is no war there.
But really I live in the United States and love it, with all their faults , it is still the best country to live in, in the world!
