My tattoo is healing and the color is very faded. Is this normal?

It's not fading, it just looks like it is because the skin is healing over it...don't worry, it's normal!

Yes. Make sure you are putting on either a tattoo oil or cream once a day. Some colors will fade a little. It's just the excess ink coming off your skin, not the tattoo its self.

I've had my tattoo for almost 10 years, and it hasn't faded at all. The red has "bled" into the gold a bit, but the colours are still warm and vibrant.

My tattoo artist said that the sun will fade a tat over time, and if you want it to stay bright, you have to protect it with sunblock.

After 20 years it will really be faded. The red in my rose is hardly there anymore. When healing, the tattoo tends to scab over for awhile. You're supposed to keep it out of direct sunlight for awhile.

It's not fading, it just looks like it is because the skin is healing,, give it time,, if it starts fading in a couple years.. then worry

Yes, it is normal. It is actually just healing. Mine did the exact same thing but color is nice and brite. Make sure you are taking care of it and putting a cream on it to keep it from drying up and cracking the skin.... or consult with your tattoo artist. I am sure they can put your mind at ease. :)

If it's red around the edges...it sounds infected. I would go back to the person that did your tattoo and he/she could help you out. Try aquaphor...it's an ointment that helps with dry skins and I use it on all of my previous tattoos. anyways. Hope your foot becomes better and is not infected. BEST OF LUCK :)
