40ab+38. Distribute the 8 to the 5ab and 4 then distribute the 3 to the 2ab and 2. After that just add the like terms which would come out to 46ab+38

8*5ab=40ab, + 8*4=32 + 3*2ab=6ab, + 3*2=6

40ab+32+6ab+6
40ab+6ab=46ab + 32+6=38

Multiply everything out first.
8*(5ab+4)= 40ab+32
3*(2ab+2)=6ab+6
combine like terms since addition
46ab+38 is your answer.
