Ok. One day I went to softball practice. I got hit just above the ankle in the front of the leg with a softball. I have had this bruise for about 3 maybe 4 months. It still hurts and it is brownish there. Is this "normal"?? (I am 12)

yup this is not uncommon, I have also fallen and hit a sharp rock on my knee a year ago and still have the bruising and a small scar. It hurt for about 7 months and now it is still bruised looking but doesn't hurt anymore.
If it really worries you ...tell your parent(s) and get it checked out if it really big

you probably have an increased amount of blood that has gathered there and it may take longer than usual be dissolved by your body. I had a simular thing happen to me when I was squashed between two cars. It took 4 months to get to where you couldn't see the bruise and a few more for the knot to go away if you are worried go see a bone and joint specialist

Its probably ok the bruise was a deep one.. But if you are concerned talk to your mother and ask her to take you to the dr. Blood work would be a good idea, in case of anemia.
