I used to be an avid listener to talk radio, even called in a few times. Now, I hardly ever listen.

I find it became hyped and the subject is getting channel directed toward simple minded people who want something to believe in and jump at any subject believing the host is a God sent genius.

With Blow Hards like Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck and assorted others of differing persuasions...I believe it's become a Charade catering to those wanting to waive foreing made American flags and eager to get out and fight the bad guys.

Use of the word "we" (i.e. we have to go in there and fight them to the very end... we have to stay the course), yet those sitting at the end of the microphone do no fighting and get paid dearly for blabbering...I believe talk shows are crapola now.

They were once useful, now a waste of time.

That's my opnion, what's yours?

(Ten pointer for the one having the guts to say I'm off the wall, or something).

You are off the wall. The stations exist because there is a demand for them. as for the part about the guys at the other end of the mic not fighting: Rush Limbaugh (though I love him) is a 55 year old fat man, do you really want him running around in Iraq?

I don't think talk radio has changed...I think you have matured, like a good wine.

Speaking of whines, that's what it's all about. Talk radio hosts are not thinkers, they are entertainers. They know what sells, what presses people's buttons, what generates excitement and outrage...and ratings. The more listeners they can suck in with slander and innuendo and stereotyping and baiting, the more the ratings go up and the more they can charge for commercials, and of course, in case you haven't figured it out yet, it's all about the almighty dollar.

The "talk" I listen to is on public radio. That's the only source for "fair and balanced" reporting.

Having more desirable people in reformatory doesnt propose we've more desirable criminals, it basically means we've a higher reformatory device and reduce tolerance for crime. they prefer to come back the following because we are a loose united states, there are jobs and no bombs exploding outdoors our doorsteps even as our little ones bypass out the door contained in the morning. We may imagine our economy is undesirable yet we are doing a lot more desirable proper off than various places from a international attitude.

Most talk radio hosts are looking for shock value, and the stations love it for the ratings. Most times, I wonder if they even believe themselves because some of the stuff they say is just so outrageous.

You made an honest observation. and made some good points, Sometimes the talk reminds me of dinner time at someones home. The one good thing about it is that insanity is kept at bay for yet another day.
