There are mixtures available at auto part stores that will temporarily seal the rings, etc. to help a little. Talk to the local Auto Zone, Pep Boys, etc. Nothing will help if the engine is really bad or the smog gear has been bypassed or removed. After market enhancements can often cause the engine to run great, but not pass emmissions. Beware before trying to turn your wheels into a road rocket.

if u have a friend that does inspections he can powerbrake the car slightly to load the engine and bring ur emmisions down...or if ur a hot chick, blow the guy

slip the tester some cash. other than that, not much will help unless its an old car. The days of tweaking mixture screws are long gone.

use chevron, get an oil change, change the spark plugs, and do a major service. maybe using additives in the gas tank.

Keep your vehicle in top mechanical condition, and use brand name gas for the test if you don't regularly use it.
