u still can go into labour anytime as u are already starting to dilate. everyone is different when it comes to labour. i was 4cm dilated for almost a week before i was induced and labour only took 7 hours. 1-2 cm isnt much to worry about now but you could go into labour any time just, i brisk walk can help even sucking on a cup of ice while laying down n bed can help too.
good luck and congratulations...
hope my answer helped a little.

It's a toughie as everybody and every body is different. I was induced exactly 1 week after my due date. I had some cervical thinning going on, but no dialating at all, and no contractions/cramps that I could ever tell. Only your body/the baby knows, and nobody else! I know Dr.'s don't recommend going 2 weeks over your due date so even the 13th will be still safe for you to carry your baby until then. Honestly - it was much more mentally calming for me to be able to walk into the hospital and get induced than a frantic drive at 3am during contractions. LOL! Good luck to you!

most doctors do not suggest sex the last few weeks before delivery. 1 -2 cm is not much dilation. Delivery usually occurs at about 10 cm. Walking during pregnancy is always a good thing to help keep abdominal muscles strong unless a doctor advises against it.

There is always a chance for you to go early. Sometimes, certain foods you eat will send you into labor. If you talk with a Midwife or even read certain books on pregnancy, they will give you all kinds of natural remedies. See if the Dr. can strip you membranes at your next visit; this also tends to send people into labor. It really stinks being over due, and waiting to be induced honey; i'm sorry!

What helped me to dilate faster, after I was 1-2, I relaxed in a tub of warm water, for 30 minutes before bedtime,it softens the cervix. I went in 6 days prior to induction date, the doctor was surprised to hear.Good Luck.

If you don't want to be induced go for a brisk walk not too fast or eat some hot (chili) food, spicy foods or have sex. If this is your first child it will be a long labour.

Well what got you in this situation was sex and that is what will get you out of it – having sex will safely induce labor as long as your doctor says you have no restrictions.
