All bites hurt some more than others. I have seen a snapping turtle bite through a broomstick. Anymore questions?

A big snapping turtle can take a finger off. A friend of mine use to go turtle feeling, which meant they felt around under banks (where you can't see anything) for turtles, and when he pulled his hand out, he had 2 fingers gone! It was HORRIFYING!

depends on the turtle.. snapers yes. my red ear slider used to eat mice. so i can imagine some pain would be inflicted there. when picking up a turtle pick it up by the tail. they cant bite or claw you then.

Small ones barely feel like anything.

Larger ones can pinch, and maybe even cause an injury.

Snappers and softshells are capable of inflicting more injuries- big snappers can really, really hurt.
