Read your history books and you find out how Pakistan was created. Pakistan and India were not through arguing. They bickered about where exactly to put the borders, fighting to nudge them as little as a mile in one direction or another. In the end, the British made the decisions. They drew the new borders using outdated maps while sitting far away from the regions that were the focus of the disputes. Many people did not like the new countries. People whose families had lived in a village for hundreds of years now found that they were in a new country called Pakistan, and they wanted to live in India. Likewise, many people — especially Muslims — wanted to live in the new Pakistan. All of these people had to move, and move quickly, before the new borders became official.
The Indian-Pakistan War of 1971 began when Pakistane forces struck an Indian Air Force base.

India and Pakistan still have great difficulties. In 1971, India intervened in a dispute between East Pakistan and West Pakistan. As a result, East Pakistan became the independent nation of Bangladesh. Border disputes, especially in the Kashmir region, constantly threaten to erupt into new hostilities.

In 1998, India tested its first nuclear bomb. Within weeks, Pakistan responded with a successful test of its own. The bitter divide between the two nations now has horrific stakes. Sixteenth century disputes between villages have evolved into a potential 21st-century nuclear holocaust – if cooler heads do not prevail.

No, because long ago England conquered what is now India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Burma. They didn't do so hot when trying to take over Afghanistan though, as the Russians also found out. The Japanese took Burma from them. Somewhere around the 1960's (sorry forgot the year), East and West Pakistan were divided and East Pakistan became Bangladesh--which was right because the people were simply too different and too far apart to be equitably run as a single country.

Pakistan was a part of India till 1947. Then India was ruled by Britishers. After a long war of independence, India became free in 1947, but some Muslim leaders felt that they wanted a country of their own. Thus the country was partitioned, a separate Pakistan was created. Their wars with India originated mainly on the issue of Kashmir. Before independence, India was a conglomerate of states ruled by individual rulers. The rulers were given the authority to either merge with India or Pakistan. Ruler of Kashmir wanted to remain free, and did not merge with either. To forcibly annex Kashmir, Pakistan's forces invaded the state. Then the king of Kashmir decided to join India, signed an accession document, and requested India for military help. India freed a part of Kashmir through military action, but under pressure of international community, handed over the issue to UN. Till now, the issue is hanging, and even had brought the countries on verge of a nuclear war.
