Go to your folder labeled startup in the start menu (bottom left usually) and drag it out of the start menu.

It depends on the program. Some have a setting in Options or Preferences within the program. Look also under Start, Programs, Startup. Anything listed in there will auto-start. The last place to look is in the registry. Start, Run, Regedit. Browse to "My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run. Anything in the left window will auto- start. You should ALWAYS back up the registry BEFORE making any changes.

Go to Sart/Run/ then type msconfig in the blank space and hit ok. When in system configurations window, select the Startup Tab and locate the program which you dont want to startup. Remove the check mark from it and restart you computer. Good Luck.

Go to the start menu and click on run. Type msconfig in and press enter. Go to the start up tab and look under the location. By looking at the location you should be able to tell what program it is and therefere allow it to start or not.
