A pair is a set of 2. You can have 2 pairs just the same as you can have 2 sets. If you have Levis and Wranglers, you have 2 pairs of jeans. 2 pairs is correct. Don't listen to anyone who tells you other wise.

Just think: which sounds better - I have two pairs of shoes. or I have two pair of shoes. Doen't really make sense logically but the English language is not logical!

Doesn't saying I have a pair already suggest you have two?
Saying I have Two Pairs would be like saying my one nose itches, isn't it obvious you mean your nose, the only nose you have.
