Yeah. Periods usually last about 5 days, and then you will get it around the same time next month for about 5 days or so. But for the first year of having periods, you will be very irregular. They'll come and go.

Very normal. Just don't be alarmed if you don't get another one next month. It takes almost a year before your periods get n a normal routine. And five days is very normal also. Some people have them for seven days.

seeing as though this is your first period they are going to be abnormal. 5 days is right in the middle of the "normal" marker. your period can last from 3-7 days.
did you ever see the movie My girl?? vada gets her period in that movie and thomas j comes to visit her and she pushes him across the porch and says "and don't come back for 5-7 days"
I thought it was cute, and your question just reminded me of that.

Yes, perfectly normal.
A first period will always be different, sort of whacky, and not very long. Don't worry, everything is fine.
If you have any other questions or concerns just talk to your mom about it and she can reassure you that you're normal.

I've had my period since i was like 12 and mine last anbout 3 days. It scares mr though b/c sometimes mine won't come for like 2 months at a time. ---nedless to say, i keep a box of HPT's under my sink. (BTW, I"m 16)

haha... yes that is normal... the least you can have it is 3 days n the most is atleast 10 days... you are fine but it will change every once in a while... since you just started
