My kids had gone to school and my husband was at work. My daughter had just gotten one of the Final Fantasy games for her playstation a few days before - and I was playing her game of all things! My husband called me and told me to turn the TV on - when I did they showed the first tower that had been struck - but at that time they did not even know it was a jet that had flown into the tower on the news - at that time they were speculating that it was a smaller plane. I was watching the TV news when the second plane flew into the second tower. I screamed - because then I knew what was happening!:(

I live in Canada British Columbia on the west coast so it was around 5 AM my time when it happened. My brother called as he lived in Kentucky at the time and he told my parents and I to turn on the TV.

A morning I will never forget. I remember being Canadian and also American I felt horrible for that day and a lot of my friends either didn't care or couldn't understand why I did care. Infact that day I had to go to school (I was in grade 7 at the time) and I had some smart mouthed kid (who was not my friend) tell me the "Stupid americans got what they deserved"..... That has been the only time I have ever actually hit someone out of anger in my life... the kid was out for a few minutes and dizzy for the rest of the day....

I was at work, my spouse called me just after I arrived and told me what was happening, giving me an hysterical play-by-play while he watched the TV.

The few people in my store at the time listened while I repeated it all... he called maybe 20 times throughout the day to update me, and although everyone on the street was in tears talking about it, it didn't seem real until I watched it myself that night.

I live in a small town in Canada, and the impact here was as devastating as anywhere else. I spent an hour that night in a chat room, until the anger and despair coming from all the chatters was too much for me. That's what I'll remember the most - the overwhelming and desperate need for revenge. The anger continues to rear its head now, and I suspect it will for a long, long time.

I had the week off from work. I was looking up train fares on Amtrak to visit my sister in NYC and listening to the radio when I heard the news. The first plane was bad enough, but learning about the second plane and figuring out that it was not an accident was sickening and terrifying, among other things. We lived in DC back then too, and when we heard about the Pentagon we didn't know what else was coming.

I remember that day vividly. I was sitting in English class in 1st hour. The secretary came in, motioned to the teacher, he left the room for a minute, then came back in and went straight to the TV, and flipped on FNC, where the horrifying and quite unbelievable site of a plane flying into WTC. We didn't do much that day, except talk about that. Come to think of it, the rest of that week was pretty well shot at school.

I was on the final day of a vacation to Hawaii, my first vacation in several years. My wife and I were going to spend the day swiming and sunbathing. I found out about the attack when I went to the post office to send home a box of souvenirs and clothes I didn't want to carry on the plane the next morning.

I was getting ready for class and while driving to school I heard about on the radio, but didn't really understand if it were true or not and wasn't sure until I got out of class and went back home and turned on the TV, my college canceled classes for the rest of the day. My sister lived at Ft Bragg at the time and she was at work, off base, and the base was locked down and her children were on base at school and she was unable to get to them, very stressful.

I was at the grocery store flirting with the produce guy as he showed me how to pick a ripe cantelope...seriously and I got into my car and the radio came on and it was in between the two planes hitting the WTC.
