Basically all I do is surf internet, check email, sometimes, burn music, and use Word.

It would be impossible to tell you which would be a better computer for you because you have not listed what you do on the computer. If you do high speed gaming for instance and one has a great video card and the other does not, that would be what your choice depends on.
Find a friend that knows what you use it for and some computer knowledge and ask them to help you pick out a computer.

Neither. I would buy a MacBook, or a MacBook Pro. Or a MacPro, or an iMac, or a Mac mini. They are way way better.
