I am a huge Sammy Sosa fan and would love to see him come back and end his career on a better note with a better team than the Orioles, but it is doubtful. For one, his reputation has been tainted w/ the whole corked bat thing, plus steriod-use allegations. Also, he's getting up there in age (though not as old as Barry Bonds), and he's got a wife and family to think about. it would have been nice if he could have gone out with the Cubs, though.

No, Sammy Sosa officially retired from baseball. You should tell your friend he is full of $hit and that he shouldn't speak about anything regarding baseball in the next 2 weeks.
