Could be anything. Rather than try and troubleshoot what the issue is, reformat your PC using the Windows CD (or recovery partition) and reinstall Windows, I know for a fact that will solve your problem. Unless you have done this before and it just keeps happening in which case there is another cause, but I'll cross that bridge if we come to it.

OK - some of the answers before are correct -ish !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BUT before anyone could give you correct answer we would need a bit more info

No 1: What computer do you have? ie - make and model

2: The OS - think you have win xp - but clarify

3: When do you get this message? Will windows start at all?

4: Do you have a recovery disk or a windows disk? Or disks supplied?

There are numerous reason for errors

Also are you able to get into windows at all? Or are you getting a message saying "We apologise but windows could not start------ etc etc"

Or do you get a blue screen error ?

If you need do email me look on my profile - and i will clarify and help if needed

also attempt out spybot S&D, which i like over AVG. Ccleaner is amazingly solid, so keep that. some belongings you may do is bypass into ccleaner->equipment->uninstall and get rid of the courses you do not use. Then bypass to ccleaner->equipment->startup and make positive purely the outright mandatory courses run once you startup homestead windows. After that, examine the techniques that are at the moment operating on your equipment (CTRL-ALT-DEL) and search for (in case you do not already recognize) that are homestead windows serious techniques and that are elective third party techniques that do no longer some thing yet take up reminiscence. i have discovered with distinctly a lot each and every buddy i have ever carried out this for, that this quickens their equipment notably; really at the same time as first logging into homestead windows.

You could try loading the Recovery console & try to access the info on a CD, if you have a friend that can put it on one.

C:\WINDOWS\system32\config is where many log & event files are stored. You may be able to fake it with someone elses files.

Otherwise, try to get your data out & reload the OS.

i don't have a specific answer, but you can start with this...your system 32 is what makes your computer run. it is the "heart" basically of your operating system. the "config" part is the configuration, so if it is lost or damaged then you are probably in trouble if you don't know much about computers. Good Luck!!!!!

Step one: EMAIL ME!!!

If you've gone to any site, you might have gotten someone's idea of a Trojan Horse, a dangerous computer virus.
I need you to send me the following information:

Do you have an antivirus software?
If so, which kind?
What brand is your laptop? (e.g. Dell, Gateway, Toshiba)

When you email me with this info, maybe THEN we'll be able to sort things out.

Ben out.
